We developed a web-based GIS mapping system and applications for a fast food company that allows call center agents to access a variety of location-based services such as street, landmark, building, and intersection searches as well as map viewing enabling quick processing of customer orders made over the phone.
This solution can be customized to address specific client requirements with only minimal configuration and/or adaptation. We built a software that allowed client’s call center software (which is in PHP) to work with MapXtreme Java. The mechanism being a web-accessible service with XML-based communications protocol. The call center can access our middle ware via HTTP (or web) requests and they converse using XML. Our application talks to MapXtreme directly in via the Java Application Programming Interface (API).
